Why the vacuum matters.
Vacuuming is one of the most basic ways we clean. I would think it is safe to say most of us like to walk around bare foot at home. I think it is also safe to say most of us do not like walking in dirt or hair in our own homes. So we vacuum. Good thing to as some of the things lurking on our floors are very unwelcome, such as dust mites.
These types of things not only accumulate on our floors but also our couches, chairs and beds. In turn we are hopefully vacuuming these as well. Have you ever sat on the couch on a sunny day, and you see a little puff of something rise up? This is why we vacuum our furniture and just think some things are too small for the eye to see. No big deal we say, we will just buy a vacuum with an attachment, but did you know that many vacuums we buy just recirculate the smallest of these things such as dust mites and pollen back into our air? This is awful for those of us with allergies or asthma.
So what do we do? We use the right vacuum! This means paying attention to the filter on the vacuum. Always make sure the vacuum you are buying has a HEPA filter. This isn’t too hard as a good number of the vacuums have them today but not all. That said not all HEPA filters are created the same. We have HEPA type filters and HEPA filters. The way to tell the difference is that it should have a serial number and state that traps 99.97% or higher of 0.3 microns.
Next if you are a suffer of allergies in your home you should use a complete seal system. This way you are trapping as much as possible. These in combination with a high suction vacuum should make all the difference in the world in your home.
This is why the vacuum you use matters. We can have a whole host of fancy features on our vacuums, but these should be the basics we look for. If you are a client of Suds & Steam Cleaning you can rest assured, we are using a vacuum that has these features, we clean it regularly, and we not only vacuum your carpets and rugs, but we are also getting your furniture.
Enjoy the rest of your day and I hope you get a moment to relax in your home.
